Architecture by Alvaro Siza. Designed with landscape Architect Sidonio Pardal created an angular concrete extension to the renovated Monastery. The landmark is a minimalistic white concrete building with a pair of towers and a sheltered entrance in between them. Openings punctured into the tower and roof draw light inside the extension to create a play of light and shadow across the interior. In the courtyard stands a concrete sculpture named Wayfarer which referencing the structure’s proximity to the Camino de Santiago. the extension led by Foundation Livraria Lello.
My photography is about personal space, living space and surroundings of mine and those around me. I deal with architecture, interiors, the way people choose to live both in my professional and personal work.
Observation, contemplation, as well as dealing with natural light are an integral part of my work.
The photographic action that I use derives from traditional, direct photography, using a tripod that requires a long observation of a place and attention to details and presence.
The combination of the subject and the work method have led my work to earn depth of color, shape and light, profoundly relates to values i want to express such as simplicity, delicacy and cleanness inside the image.
I pay attention to the movement of the sun and the flow of the wind.
